Binary Blonde

In a little less than 5 days, Kevin and I will on our way to Thailand to spend 10 full days exploring the country! This is a trip that we have been wanting to take for years, and now, to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary (October 25), we are finally going! I am both ecstatic and nervous. It’s the good sort of nervous though; the butterflies-in-your-stomach kind.

I’ve never been overseas before and just the thought of being somewhere as exotic as Thailand is so exhilarating. New smells, new customs, new foods.. and a language that I know frightfully little of. Thankfully, there will be someone there who speaks both Thai and English. That puts a lot of worries to rest for me.

Usually, I’d be worried about what I can eat, but there are plenty of vegan/vegetarian-friendly restaurants over there and I am sure I will have many chances to thoroughly explore vegan Thai cuisine.

Our planned route takes us almost straight up the middle of the country. Our first stop is Bangkok, where we will stay for 3 nights, then a stop at Ayuthaya and Lopburi before heading to Phitsanulok for 1 night. From Phitsanulok we go to Lampang for 1 night. After a stop at Phayao, a historic rural town in Northern Thailand, we head for Chiang Rai for 2 nights. Our last stop is Chiang Mai for 1 night, then we fly back to Bangkok for 1 more night before flying back home.

During our trip, I hope to utilize my phone’s wifi capability to connect to free wifi hot spots in the cities we will be traveling to so I can blog our daily sightseeing. I’ll probably do one more test post to double-check that it works the way I want it to, as well.
