BlogHer is Everywhere!

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

While pretty much every blogger I know is going to be in San Francisco, CA at BlogHer, I will be in the Central Valley of California with my family (I try not to call them the “in-laws”, it just doesn’t fit our close dynamic). And on the second day of BlogHer, I will be enjoying my Baby Shower!

Someday, I would love to go to BlogHer. I commented on gorgeous footsteps in the sand that I would love to take Binary Boy to San Francisco when he gets old enough. Though, I don’t know if many mom’s take their children to the actual conference. Hmmm..

I guess I am getting a little ahead of myself, huh? I tend to do that when I am excited about something, even if it may be years away of actually happening!

Anyway, the great thing about blogging is I will be able to read all about the BlogHer conference even though I can’t be there in person. Here are a list of my regular reads that are attending:

If I missed anyone (my brain hasn’t been up to full capacity lately) and you know I read your blog, let me know and I’ll add you! 🙂

Body Work. So Worth It..

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

While I only spent two days in San Francisco, my best friend and I packed those days full! Right after getting off the plane, we went to drop off my luggage at her condo (which is gorgeous and so metro!). After getting a whirlwind tour of their place, we visited my favorite stop on my trip – a massage and body work facility called PSOAS. My friend and her husband have been going there for several months now. They do all sorts of fancy stuff there, like deep tissue massage, sports massage, joint mobilization, myofascial release, and work with other clinical/sports body issues.

Now, I should disclose that I’ve never had a professional massage in my adult life. Hard to believe, right? Well, knowing this, my friend said she would treat me to an hour-long session of deep tissue massage (yes, I have the greatest friend in the world, and not just because she treated me to a professional massage). I can’t explain in words how amazingly good I felt after that massage. Yes, it was tight and a little painful, though not unbearably painful, in certain places (notably my hips and neck) when he really got down into the muscle, but afterwards I came out feeling like a million bucks. I felt like I was floating on air. Pains that I never knew I had were gone!

So, needless to say, next time I visit San Francisco, Kevin is coming with me and we are both getting a deep tissue massage. Also, if you ever have a chance to get a deep tissue massage – do it. It’s worth it. So worth it.

Weekend in San Francisco

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Tomorrow I am flying to San Francisco to visit my closest friend. She and I have been friends since high school and we were each others’ maids of honor at our weddings (though, my official title was “matron of honor” – blah).

Her and her husband just bought a really nice condo right near the water in San Francisco. They can afford that sort of thing because he just landed a job in a posh law firm.

Anyway, we talk on the phone often, but unfortunately it’s rare when we actually get to see each other in person. So, I am super excited about visiting her and just being able to hang out. I’ll be there the entire weekend and we already have our days planned out! Though, more often than not our plans usually unwind and we just go with the flow of whatever happens. For some reason it never matters because we always seems to have so much fun that way!

I’m toting my laptop there so I can blog the rest of NaBloPoMo and check my email, among other things. And besides, what would a self-proclaimed computer geek be without her laptop!? 😉

When next you hear from me, I will be up in the chilly* north!

*At least according to California standards!
