I’ve been reading a lot lately. I started (and halfway finished) a fantasy series that I’ve been meaning to read for years now. Years! So, finally, I did. I just grabbed the book and started reading. It’s The Great Book of Amber. I’m having trouble put it down to do homework! Which could potentially be a problem, but I know better than to not study. So, I have been taking the time to study, even presented with the prospect of becoming addicted and reading day and night, literally.
I’ve done that before. I’ll get into a book and just read and read all day and all night. Like, all the way through the night. Really.. I’ll see the dawn, but not because I’m up early (yikes!). I did that with The Unexpected Dragon trilogy (Pigs Don’t Fly, Master of Many Treasures & Dragonne’s Eg). Kevin was on business travel for a week, so I read for days (and nights) on end.
Now that I’m done with the first half of the Amber series (still have five more to go, though!), I used the Amazon gift certificate from winning a Blogathon prize to purchase 3 more books: Vegan Freak and the first two books of the Earthsea Cycle series (A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan – books 1 & 2, respectively). I received them and within a week was finished with all three books. Tonight, I think I’ll order another two in the Earthsea Cycle series(there are six total). Is it obvious I am already addicted?
Vegan Freak is an awesome book. I wish I would have known about it when I first became vegan, although since it was first published in 2005, it wouldn’t have been around when I became vegan in Summer of 2001. C’est la vie, no?
