Another Successful Adoption Festival

Even though I wasn’t there, I heard through the grapevine that the Best Friends Super Adoption Festival at Manchester Park was a huge success.

A good friend of mine, Billy, who coordinates set-up and take-down, as well as making sure the entire event runs smoothly said it was as “hot as hades”, but the heat didn’t seem to deter people from adopting, because a total of 425 animals were adopted on Sunday! Around 113 of those animals were from LA City Shelters (which are more like animal control shelters).

Robin, the volunteer coordinator for Best Friends Los Angeles, mentioned in her post-adoption-festival email that everyone had a great time and lots of prizes were won at the silent auction. Children were seen sporting colorful face art, pooches were paraded on the agility course and much fun was had by all. Another job well done!

I am SO looking forward to the Super Adoption Festival at the La Brea Tarpits in November.
