Busy Long Weekend

This weekend was surprisingly productive. Kevin and I went to visit his folks, but we weren’t there just to relax. We spent several hours a day scouting for investment properties in their area. Scouting an area is one of the first steps to investing in real estate and investing in real estate is one of the best ways to get out of the “rat race”, as described in the book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’. Overall, we gained lots of knowledge and set the foundation for the real thing.

It’s scary to jump in and do something new sometimes, but it’s also exciting. I thought it would be easier, too. After driving around, looking, recording, photographing and visiting the open houses, we both felt somewhat exhausted. We put a lot of work into it each day and I can understand why more people don’t do it!

We are planning to visit his parents again for July 4th, and hopefully by then we’ll already have made an offer on one of the places we visited. Keep your fingers crossed.
