Okay, so it’s too damn hot to do much of anything today. Just sitting requires a fan on full blast to feel semi-comfortable. Any sort of movement requires all my energy, so dishes and laundry is something I’m pondering making an iced coffee for.
The hermies are loving the weather, however! Their heating pad hasn’t even been used yet and I have to mist them several times a day to keep the humidity at optimal levels because any moisture is sucked dry by the heat. I took some photos of their crabitat, and have included the best one:

Work was better this week, and I am learning at a fast pace. Even though I love it there, I’ve been pondering taking a leave of absence for this semester. Why? Well, for two reasons: gas prices and the realization that my homework load is going to increase A LOT this semester. From where I live it takes me about 45 minutes to get to the clinic and I drive there and back 4 days a week. I fill my gas tank twice a week now, and at $40 a pop and rising, the price is reaching a limit where it’s not making the drive worth it.
I’ll probably end up dealing with the gas prices and lack of time, because the bottom line is this is a rare opportunity to become an expert at feline medicine, handling and restraining. And, frankly, I’d be stupid to NOT do it.
