Weekend Summary

The weekend went pretty fast for me, but we got a lot done on the home front and in Binary Boy’s nursery. 😀

Friday:
– Went for my 35th week (!) prenatal appointment at the birthing center. Binary Boy is still breech. Acupuncture was highly recommended. External version was recommended and can only be done through week 37. That gives him 2 weeks max. If I forgo the version and he doesn’t turn, it’s a cesarean for sure. 🙁
– Ate at Taco Bueno after getting stuck in traffic on the way home from the appointment and realizing we were starving. Sorta reminds me of Del Taco.
– Back at home, we watched a few shows and relaxed.
– I did more of my “breech baby exercises”.

Saturday:
– Washed all of Binary Boy’s nursery linens, ironed them and made-up his crib. Put diapers in diaper stacker. Folded the rest of his clothing and put away in drawers. Kev put together a small shelving unit for the nursery, too. His room is 95% finished now!
– Ate lunch in.
– Kev put together two storage/file units that matches our computer desks. We now have a place to put our stuff in the office.
– Did lots and lots of other ironing that was piling up.
– Did breech baby exercises.
– Made dinner and watched another show.

Sunday:
– Ran errands. Post office, Staples, lunch at Taco Cabana, Whole Foods. Then home.
– Finally watched Grey’s Anatomy premiere. Took a break at the half-way point to put away the clean dishes from the dish washer.
– Did more breech baby exercises.
– Took a warm bath and ate some sorbet in bath. This was actually recommended to me by the midwives. Seriously.. I wouldn’t be taking a bath if I didn’t have to. I hate baths.

A lot of time was spent at home this weekend, but we both got SO much done. And other than Binary Boy’s head being up near my ribs, I’ve been feeling great about everything. 🙂

How was your weekend?

i’m confused. if he doesn’t turn in two weeks, does that mean they have to to a c-section right away? or can they wait until your due date?

    xoxo

  2. @cara – If he doesn’t turn in two weeks, that means they can’t/won’t do an external version after that. So, if I don’t opt for the version and he stays breech after 37 weeks, my only option is a cesarean because no one here in Austin delivers breech babies. The midwives want me to schedule the cesarean for 39 weeks (basically, so I have no chance of going into labor and having to get an emergency cesarean), but I want to possibly schedule it for later (like, on his due date). We briefly discussed that at the appointment, but the midwife said I’d have to discuss that with the doctor that would preform the cesarean.

i can’t wait to see a picture of the nursery. woo.

and hopefully acupuncture works soon 🙂

  4. Ugh… 🙁

If I were in your shoes (and I’m not, so take this for what it’s worth), I’d probably wait until as late as possible and then do the version. There’s always the chance he’d flip again or that the version wouldn’t work, but at least you would have tried. AND you would have given the little darling time to turn on his own.

What a major bummer. I hope he turns SOON!

    I love Taco Bueno!!!

Good job on the nursery and house stuff. I’m tired just thinking about it. 🙂

I wish I had words of wisdom for you on the birth situation. But no matter how it happens, the end result will be amazing!

That’s one busy weekend. You’re sounding very organised. *fingers crossed* the little guy gets wriggling and you don’t need to worry about a cesarean.

  7. @katelin – I’m hoping to get the rest of the wall hangings up this week so I can take photos and post them. 🙂

@Rebecca (Ramblings by Reba) – I’m pretty sure that is exactly what I’m going to do. Wait until the last possible moment to try the version… or even not do it at all and deal with the possibility of a cesarean. I really want to trust that he’ll turn on his own THAT much.

@Ellen – Taco Cabana is delish, too! I was so happy to find that there is no shortage of good, fast Mexican food here. Thanks! I’ve been feeling the urge to just clean, clean, clean. Though, to be honest, that’s in my general nature, too, so I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that his due date is only a month away now. *gasp*

@Sassy – I appreciate the finger crossing. I’m grateful for any good thoughts on turning sent our way! I’m pretty much deathly afraid of having a cesarean, but know that whatever is meant to be, will be.
