Miz UV - She writes a great blog. Will be reading it from now on. Thanks for the heads up!

Shelly - Cool! Thanks for the info - it's just the kind of info I was looking for. We've read several places that it gets hot, though no one mentioned "stinking hot". Either way, I adore the heat and humidity and will be quite happy if it is hot most of the time. Kevin said he would "deal". Haha!

I've read a lot about it, but didn't know it was that bad. I wonder if it is as bad as traffic is in Los Angeles, because that would seriously suck. We will look into those other towns you mentioned - thank you! Thanks for the blog, too. Will add it to my feed and read it for other insights. Also, I just might take you up on your offer to email you if any questions come up between Kevin and I. :-)

Thanks, GG. I've bookmarked it and will use it if (when?) we start looking for housing in/near Austin.

I am a little biased on the Texas topic, being a native Texan. We live in North Texas but, we love to take trips to Austin. We have thought about moving there ourselves. Why haven't we? Easy...traffic. The traffic in Austin is terrible, it didn't use to be but, now it is. Depending on where you were going to work I would either live in Dripping Springs (southwest of Austin) or Round Rock (just north). It is an extremely laid back city and nothing like Dallas or Houston. I would ask Chicken Fried Therapy (http://www.chickenfriedtherapy.blogspot.com/), she is a transplant who lives in Austin. Feel free to email me with any questions.
