Master Cleanse Goes Mainstream

January 21, 2008

So, remember yesterday I briefly mentioned an interesting store display I saw in Whole Foods? Well, I found it so interesting that I took a photo of it:

Master Cleanse Display at Whole Foods in Southern California

Yup, it’s a Master Cleanse display! I was pleasantly surprised to see it so commercialized, as most people pass this stuff off as “hippy nonsense.” The display was front-and-center as you walk into the store, so it’s the first thing you see after you pick up a cart/basket.

It reminded me of when I did the Master Cleanse program last year and blogged the whole thing. All the products (even down to the specific teas) on the display was the stuff I used when I did it. Speaking of, I plan on doing in again later this year, too. I’ll probably blog the experience then, as well (especially since I’m participating in Blog 365)!

On a different note, I totally enjoyed my day off today. For some reason, today felt like an extra-super-duper freebie day, so I’m a little bummed about having to go back to work tomorrow. Ah well, at least I’ll have my new podcasts to listen to – thanks again to everyone who left a comment with their favorite podcast! 😀

I tried this. Only got through a few days. I want to do it again though and finish the darn thing!

You can also use limes if you get tired of lemons.

My friend did this and man, I don’t know if I could go through with it. It seems so intense. Eee.

Jamie – Oh, good for you for getting through even a few days! You should try starting it again when you are ready. I’ll totally be your cheerleader when you decide to try it again! 😀

KSS – Yup, you’re right! I think I mentioned that in my posts when I did the Master Cleanse, but it never hurts to mention it again. Limes definitely taste better (to me) and are mentioned in the official book as an alternative to lemons.

Katelin – It is easier than it seems. You only need two things to do it (other than the actual consumables): free time and self discipline. 🙂

I’m ashamed to admit I’ve never been to Whole Foods. Sounds interesting!

Miz UV – No shame in that! It’s a great store, however. I couldn’t live without it, especially considering I’m pretty much “type A” when it comes to my food. 😆

Just wondered what the master cleanse did for you……How did it improve your life, well being, etc.
Thanks! 🙂

I agree. This display is interesting. It leads your eyes to the top because it is a pyramid. At the top you find clean water. You know the people who designed this display knew what they were doing. I love whole foods.

I can’t say I’ve ever done a master cleanse….I’ve only done light detoxing and that was a stretch. It seems really hard, especially if you are accustomed to eating ever couple of hours. It does seem intriguing, and I’m sure super beneficial.

Hi,

You mentioned that you plan on doing the master cleanse later this year. Do you have a specific schedule for going on the program?

What kind of prep work do you do before going on the program.

Hey there,

I love your blog your array of topics is amazing and never ceases to amaze me about the content as I have been back and forth to your blog over the past couple years.

I have since recently tried a Natural Cleanse and I am really loving it. Coupled together with a great multi-vitamin I have quite literally banished my chronic headache problem.

Keep blogging I love reading your stuff!

All the best for the future and beyond!

Peter.
