Faced with a laptop that was quickly becoming outdated, I had to make a choice between getting another Windows-based laptop or switching to Apple. It wasn’t a hard choice, actually. Even though I’ve used Windows-based computers my entire life, it was all the horror stories I’ve read about Windows Vista that steered me towards making the switch to Apple.
So, last weekend, my husband and I ordered two 13-inch white MacBooks, and they arrived today!
Pretty, isn’t it? So far, I have my email, Safari (web browser) and iChat set up. I still need to transfer my files from my old laptop and find a good program to edit my graphics with, as I’ve found that iPhoto just doesn’t meet my needs.
As of yet, I don’t plan to dual-boot on my MacBook, even though it’s possible to run Vista on it. However, I won’t rule out the possibility that I might have to at some point down the line, but it is something I hope to avoid.
For now, I am going stick with anything and everything Apple, and hopefully leave the frustrations of Windows in the past. On some level, I guess, switching to a Mac is just another part of the new “clutter-free, less stress” me.
