Sleeping Through the Traffic*

December 17, 2007

Blarg.

Yes, that pretty much sums up how I feel right now. I’m tired. Like the weird, feeling-like-your-floating tired. I barely slept last night. Which would have been okay had I been able to sleep in, but today I started another temp work assignment. Also okay, but the location of the assignment is just off the 405 and anyone who knows So Cal traffic knows that the 405 has the worst traffic EVER. Basically, what should take me 15 minutes (according to Google Maps), takes me an hour because of traffic. So, I had to get up an hour earlier and it took me an hour to get home, and the job location is only 12 miles away. It’s enough to make someone want to move away…

Anyway, enough of my ranting about So Cal traffic. I could fill a post a day about how crappy So Cal traffic is at any time of the day and night, let alone rush hour(s).

Honestly, underneath all the tired, I’m feeling a whole lot better than I was when I wrote my last post. My cold is gone and I mostly feel like myself again. (Yay!) Tonight, hopefully, I can get a good nights rest. Heh… Let’s keep an open mind, shall we? :-P

* Not literally. I promise. :-)

No, please do write an entire post on Cali Traffic! I need some re-assuring that my 20 minute commute time here in Denver is more than normal and *dare I say?* acceptable?

Ughhhhh, with our snow storm last week – a 7 minute highway trip turned into 75 minutes! :-(

Having known people who live/lived in Southern California, I can appreciate the madness you must deal with day out.
Glad you’re feeling better and kudos to you for you work with the Katrina ‘fallout’ – the animals. You should be sainted.

Yeah I thought NY was bad…LA can be ridiculous. Glad to hear your feeling better; just in time for holidays and the new year ;)

theMayor – Only 20 minutes!? That’s amazing and I am frankly jealous. Enjoy your 20 minute commute for me next time, okay? ;-)

Simple Mindz – Aww, that’s so not fun! I hope it got better after they cleaned the snow off the road.

Katelin – Yes, yes, yes. I can’t agree with you enough.

Mani – Thanks for the words of support regarding our crappy traffic. It’s something I hope you should never experience. And thanks for your kind words about Hurricane Katrina animal rescue. It was an amazing time in my life, those 3 months. I still think about it at least once a day. I hope you keep enjoying my blog!

Matt – NY is really bad, too, from what I hear. Though, I think LA is still the worst because of the distance between things. Also, thank you! I am so happy I feel great for the holidays and New Year. It was perfect timing!
