Hmm.. It’s been quiet around here, huh? I’ve noticed that I’m not the only one who’s not been blogging this week, either. Maybe it’s one of those cosmic things and everyone is buried in their own thoughts.
Personally, I’ve been buried in my thoughts, trying to decide… well, a lot of things. Like, whether I want to continue with the veterinary technician program. But, you already knew that.. I think I’ve come to a decision on this, but I’m not sure I want to voice it, yet.. I don’t want to jinx anything, and I think I need some time to digest what I’ve ultimately decided to do.
Another decision on my mind, and this is more fun to talk about, is where to go on our trip next Spring. In May of this year, Kevin and I went on a trip along the coast (of California). We drove up to Carmel-by-the-Sea, stayed for a couple days at a friends guest house and started our way back down, staying in several cities along the way and visiting several excellent hiking locations, as well as Hearst Castle. We liked it so much that we decided to plan another trip, similar in style (hiking/camping, no cruises or extreme luxury) for next May.
We’ve come up with three places: Grand Canyon National Park, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park or Yosemite National Park. I’ve been to the Grand Canyon during a 2-week backpacking trip throughout the southwest (Utah, Nevada, Arizona) and it’s one of the few places I actually vividly remember. That might not seem like a big deal, but it is to me.
See, I have the worst memory. I think it’s hereditary, but either way, I can’t remember most of my life. I seem to remember about 3 years back from my current age at any given time, and various, odd moments here and there, but mostly it’s all blank. So, when I remember a place or a person or an event, it’s a big deal for me. And, it’s why I treat photos like precious gems. In most cases, they are literally my memories. But, I digress.
Sequoia, I’ve heard from the people who know me, is a place that I would fall in love with instantly and would probably not want to leave. Yosemite is just one of those places that everyone should visit at least once in their life. So…any suggestions? :cute:
