Kevin, my husband, just left to fly back home after spending two days here in Louisiana with me. We had a great time walking around the French Quarter, Bourbon Street and visiting the sites in the city. We took many photos, which I will put up when I return. I am so happy he moved around his travel and made it here. I already miss him!
He also spent some time at Celebration Station because I had to return here in the mornings and evenings for an hour or so to give the kitties all their medications. I am so glad he had a chance to see where I’ve been living for the past month and a half – it makes a huge difference to see this place, rather than imagining it through my descriptions.
Speaking of Celebration Station, I am working on making up a little guide for those of you who want to come volunteer here. It’s mainly a list of supplies that you might want to bring. I am also going to list supplies and foods/meals that are here (the majority of the time, at least) for the general population.
A volunteer who reads my blog mentioned that she couldn’t find anything about what to bring, and as she was mentioning it, I had a huge “duh” moment because that should have been one of the first things I posted. Ah well, live and learn!
